Let Us Not Forget
This project has been set up so that we can remember and share our loved ones life stories.
Who they were, how they lived and their final resting place.
Sharing stories, pictures and videos so that they will not be forgotten.
Explainer Videos Below.
Welcome to Let Us Not Forget, a heartfelt initiative dedicated to preserving the memories of our loved ones who have passed away.
This publicly accessible map serves as a digital sanctuary where friends and families can commemorate the final resting places of those they hold dear.
By contributing to this map and website, you ensure their stories, achievements, and cherished moments remain alive and shared for generations to come. Each marker celebrates a life lived, complete with their story, photos, videos, or personal tributes shared by their family.
Through your submissions, accompanied by a small donation, Let Us Not Forget WILL grow into a vibrant tapestry of remembrance and love
a timeless reminder that no one is truly forgotten.
Add your loved one's memory today and help us create a lasting legacy of connection, reflection, and celebration.
In 2023 my mother passed away and we took her ashes to Margam Park which is near where she lived to scatter her ashes and I added her to our 'family map' on Google.
The map had been created previously when my father-in-law passed in 2016 and he wanted to have his ashes scattered in the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus which he loved. We had no way of knowing where he was scattered for future visits so I set the map up to enable us to return.
As my sister and I were clearing out our parents house we found so many old photos of relatives gone by and my sister turned to me and said 'In time all these people will be forgotten' and that started me thinking... Why can't others be add to the map?
After all, we live in the information world so why can't people be remembered for generations to come?
That is what prompted me to set up this project and make our family map a public map that others can add their loved ones stories to. I then started to think about how this simple idea could be used for so much good.
The process is simple.
I have created a shared map on Google maps which you can add your loved one's story too via our online form. You will be able to add text, pictures and video to tell their story.
NOTE: If you upload a video file then we will also add them to our YouTube channel to help share their story. If you have a link to the video you would rather share, there is an option for that too.
You will need to send us the Google Maps Link of your loved ones last resting place.
This is the Google Maps coordinates link that we will need to use to add your loved one to our map. Watch this video if you are unsure how to get this link.
This project has a lot of potential to help other people. I ask for a minimum £10 donation, or your currency equivalent, because I want the map to be available to everyone and not just people who can afford it.
Inputting the data from your form submission takes time so, as the project grows, I want to outsource the work to paid volunteers.
As the work is fairly straight forward I want to outsource it to people who could do with the additional income or those who have fallen on hard times and found themselves in financial difficulty..
BUT, I don't want to outsource it to businesses who just get rows and rows of data inputters who work for the profit of the business.
Once I have established the project I will be looking for applicants to become a volunteer. Please bear with me on this as there is so much to do with this project.

"Please help me write a eulogy (or obituary) for my [relationship, e.g., mother, friend, etc.] that tells the story of their life. It should be warm, respectful, and under 3,500 characters. Here is the information about them:
• Full name:

Please ensure that you check the output from ChatGPT as it is only a tool and can make mistakes.
Once that is done, copy and paste the information into the form.
